Hi Glen, thanks for the photos of the mushrooms. When I was young and we lived on the farm in Suamico, my dad used to be working at the back part of our farm. My job was to bring him a quart of cold water. Well, along the way I discovered these giant mushrooms on the field, and I'd step on them, and they would puff up. I thought this was great fun. Well, of course it made the walk much longer. By the time I got the water to Dad, he would ask me what took me so long, was I walking on eggs. I didn't have the nerve to tell him that I really was, and then enjoyed the walk home, stepping on more of the mushrooms. I always called them puffballs, but didn't know that was their actual name. Thanks for reminding me of this great memory. Ginny Schunke Saxe. Love your blog.
